Working With Waste Research Group

Founded in 2021 WWW participants are creative practitioners interested in transdisciplinary research and hybrid filmmaking. We are artists, facilitators, social scientists, environmental historians, students, filmmakers and writers who share an interest in the politics, processes and socio-cultural implications of working with waste. Group activity begins from a series of questions: how do we archive, improvise, share and reactivate waste materials? What are the rhythms, values and historical legacies associated with working with different waste materials, and how do attitudes to waste shape infrastructures and norms?

Participants include: Jenna Sutela, James Richards, Riar Rizaldi, Mary Maggic, Simon Werrett, Elsa Richardson, Pauline Curnier Jardin, Alex Blanchette, Tamar Novick, Xiyao Chen, Bente Castro, Gabriel Coleman, David Leal, Wojciech Olchowski, Bronte Dow, Sophie Cundale, Anastasia Almosova, Berkay Soykan, Philipp Dollinger, Mathew Wayne Parkin, Ari Nielsson, Wilma Stone, Kirsty Hendry, Bryony Kate Gillard, Sophie Hoyle, Andra Philth.
