Warm Decembers, 4K film (27 min with 5.1 surround sound)
Based on a poem by Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick Warm Decembers was scripted through an exchange with writer Cassie Westwood who features in the film reflecting on her own gender transition she describes how the diverse attitude to poetic waste of authors like Sedgwick has helped her make sense of her own false starts and necessary revisions; as she works to integrate memories, desires, or identifications that she was led to believe were unacceptable – with the identity she was assigned at birth. Framed by Cassie’s personal experience of transition and Sedgwick’s notes the film adopts creative approaches to psychic and poetic waste and describes the act of building subjectivity from emotional experiences that you are left with.
